TAD – The Compact Evolution One CE1-TX
The widely praised TAD-CE1 loudspeaker set a benchmark for innovative engineering, inside and out, faithfully reproducing music down to the finest detail of the original, without adding colour or losing the subtle intent of artists and producers. With the new TAD-CE1TX, that already exceptional performance has been pushed further by introducing carefully considered refinements throughout the design.
The TAD-CE1TX redefines what is possible from two-channel music playback. It delivers precise image focus and a spacious, three-dimensional soundstage between the left and right speakers, creating a genuine “you are there” sensation. It feels as if you are in the control room, hearing the musicians perform right in front of you.
Every aspect of the CE1TX has been meticulously developed to immerse you in a truly enveloping sound field.
Description
The TAD-CE1TX is a three-way, bass-reflex standmount loudspeaker that represents the definitive expression of TAD’s Compact Evolution philosophy — extraordinary resolution and tonal accuracy in a living-room-friendly enclosure.
At its heart is TAD’s proprietary CST (Coherent Source Transducer) driver: a 1.375″ beryllium dome tweeter mounted concentrically within a 5.5″ magnesium midrange cone. This coaxial arrangement creates a true point-source from 250Hz to 100kHz, delivering the precise imaging and natural soundstage coherence that TAD’s reference-grade systems are renowned for. The beryllium diaphragm is formed using TAD’s proprietary vapour-deposition technique — the same method used in their flagship Reference One R1TX.
Bass is handled by a 7″ woven aramid composite woofer — five layers of fabric engineered into a shell-shaped diaphragm that integrates the dust cap and cone into a single rigid structure. On each side, TAD’s signature Bidirectional ADS (AeroDynamic Slot) port allows internal air to flow symmetrically through sculpted aluminium side panels, reducing port noise and preventing internal standing waves from escaping.
The CE1TX is available in two finishes: WN (natural wood grain, mirror-polished) and K (piano black lacquer). Optional TAD-ST2TX-K stands are available and highly recommended.
Made entirely in Japan.
