Description

The TAD DA1000TX is the Evolution-series standalone digital-to-analogue converter from Technical Audio Devices Laboratories — TAD’s answer to the demand for a reference DAC purpose-built for high-resolution streaming, computer audio, and external digital transports. Conversion is handled by parallel-connected, dual-differential D/A converter ICs — one pair per channel — feeding a discrete current-to-voltage (I/V) stage that holds composure at high slew rates. Independent toroidal power transformers serve the analogue and digital sections in isolation, eliminating the cross-contamination that constrains lesser designs. The analogue output stage is high-speed and low-noise, rendering transient bass with grip and recovering detail at the upper limit of audibility without hardness.

As a digital media centre, the DA1000TX is fully equipped. An XLR AES/EBU input, two coaxial S/PDIF inputs, and an optical input support standard broadcast and transport sources; the USB input unlocks the full high-resolution library. A line-output volume control allows the DA1000TX to drive a power amplifier directly, shortening the signal path to its simplest form.
