Description

The TAD DA1000 is TAD’s dedicated digital-to-analogue converter, a component designed for listeners who want to bring TAD’s sonic character to a streaming or computer-based digital library alongside — or instead of — a dedicated disc transport. Built on the same discrete converter topology as the D1000TX, but optimised for continuous-duty DAC operation across all major digital input formats, the DA1000 represents TAD’s most considered statement on digital-to-analogue conversion as a standalone discipline.

The DA1000’s input section accepts USB, AES/EBU, coaxial S/PDIF, and optical connections, accommodating network streamers, computer sources, and digital transports of all kinds. The conversion and output stages are implemented in balanced topology throughout, with separate power supply regulation for each functional section — a design approach that is non-negotiable at TAD’s engineering standard. The analogue output delivers an exceptionally low noise floor and a level of harmonic resolution that makes the digital source format nearly invisible.

In TAD reference system demonstrations, the DA1000 has been paired with the C700 preamplifier and M700 or M700S power amplifiers to deliver a complete digital front-end of exceptional transparency. For those building a reference TAD system around a streaming or computer audio source, the DA1000 is the natural and definitive digital gateway.
