Description
The J Sikora CF9 is a 9-inch tonearm that substitutes a carbon fibre tube for the aluminium tube of the KV9, producing a fundamentally different resonant character while retaining the bearing precision and geometric accuracy that defines all J Sikora arm designs. Carbon fibre’s high stiffness-to-weight ratio and inherently self-damping structure make it an interesting alternative to aluminium in tonearm applications — offering a different tonal balance and resonance signature that some cartridges and listeners prefer.
The CF9 is the standard tonearm supplied with J Sikora’s Aspire turntable, making it the entry into the brand’s analogue ecosystem for many listeners. Its bearing assembly is built to J Sikora’s standard specification, ensuring the same low friction and freedom from play that characterise the KV9 and KV Max series. The counterweight and anti-skating mechanisms are identical in design philosophy to the rest of the J Sikora range.
The CF9 has been introduced and demonstrated at Capital Audiofest in the context of the Aspire turntable system, where Analog Planet noted the combination’s distinctive visual and sonic character. As J Sikora’s carbon-tube offering, the CF9 represents an interesting alternative for listeners who want a different resonant character from their arm while remaining within the quality framework of J Sikora’s manufacturing standards. Arm-only pricing is available for fitting to non-Aspire turntables — confirm current pricing with Epiphany Audio.
J. Sikora products have earned repeated recognition from Stereophile as among the finest analogue sources produced anywhere in the world.
