The J Sikora KV9 is the standard 9-inch tonearm in J Sikora’s arm range — a design that embodies the same principles of bearing precision, material selection, and vibration control that characterise the brand’s turntable lineup. Machined from solid aluminium with brass bearings held to the closest tolerances that production manufacturing permits, the KV9 is designed to track the groove with the minimum of lateral and vertical friction while presenting the cartridge with a stable, non-resonant mechanical platform.

The KV9’s geometry follows conventional 9-inch arm parameters, optimised for the most common cartridge-to-spindle distances and appropriate for a wide range of moving coil and moving magnet cartridges. Effective mass and damping are tuned for the mid-to-high compliance cartridges that represent the majority of high-end moving coil output. The counterweight system provides precise VTF adjustment, and the anti-skating mechanism is of the thread-and-weight pattern preferred by J Sikora for its linearity across the groove radius.

The KV9 is the standard arm supplied with J Sikora’s Aspire turntable, and is the recommended entry into the brand’s tonearm range for listeners assembling a J Sikora system. It has been reviewed in the context of the Florida International Audio Expo 2025 system demonstrations, where it contributed to a presentation that drew widespread critical attention.
