The J Sikora KV Max 9 is the fully developed 9-inch tonearm in J Sikora’s range, representing a comprehensive programme of refinement applied to the KV9 platform. The Max designation covers a suite of upgrades to bearing specification, arm tube material treatment, and counterweight optimisation that collectively produce a measurably and audibly superior instrument — one that extracts more information from the groove while introducing less coloration of its own.
The Zirconium treatment that defines the KV9 Max Zirconium variant — as reviewed by Stereophile — applies a zirconium surface process to the arm tube that reduces micro-resonance and grain in the mid-band frequencies, an area where conventional aluminium arm tubes can introduce subtle but audible character.
